The man behind the mission, Ron Romero, Chairman of the Museum, has spent years preparing the venue for its grand debut. But something was missing.

“We needed a sign, something iconic, something unforgettable,” said Romero. “Not only did we have to work with the city and historic committees, we're a historic landmark after all, but we also had to request special permission. Gigantar is bigger than any sign or sculpture currently allowed under city codes!”

Bigger is better when you're making history. And Route 66 is no stranger to unforgettable roadside attractions. From giant hotdogs to massive muffler men, the iconic highway is a shrine to the quirky and extraordinary. With that in mind, Romero and his team knew they needed a showstopper.
